Preschool Classroom Grand-Friends

Seeking volunteers to share their time with JCC preschoolers once a month for the school year. “Grand-Friends” can bring their special talents, read stories, participate in holiday celebrations, and more. Grand-friends will learn about the Sheva framework that guides the JCC Preschool, incorporating seven core principles, using a Jewish lens to reveal universal values.

“Kitchen Commons” – Share Your Wisdom

Seeking mentors from the Adult 55+ community willing to share their wisdom on any topic related to food, home management, home economics, or self-sufficiency. Lots of flexibility on topics, anything that promotes food literacy or independent living skills. Stipend for mentors to present at one Kitchen Commons communal dinner on Tuesday.

JSA Senior Peer Counselling
Adults 55+

Would you volunteer to be a peer counsellor to an isolated senior in the community? This 11-session course by the Jewish Seniors Alliance teaches active and empathetic listening, communication skills, and familiarity with community resources.

Upon completion participants will receive a Certificate in Senior Peer Counselling. You will be contacted for an interview and reference checks once registered.
