Learn to make the music you like to listen to! DJ and violinist Michael Fraser will show you the basics of how music is composed electronically and how you can become the DJ everyone wants at the party!

MARINA SHEVERSKY
Piano

Marina Sheversky is a European trained piano teacher with a M.A.in Music and has over 30 years of experience. Marina teaches piano in a wide variety of musical styles and genres, from classical to jazz, blues and pop music. Marina’s aim is to inspire students for a life-long love and enjoyment of music as well as self – direction.

LINDSAY WARNOCK

Voice

Lindsay is a professional musician, singer and actor. She has been teaching piano and voice throughout the Lower Mainland for eight years. She holds a BA​ of Performing Arts from Capilano University, has been working for Arts Club, Gateway and Theatre Under the Stars.

KINNERET SIERADZKI
Violin

Originally from Israel and recently moved here from Germany, Kinneret is an accomplished concert violinist and passionate teacher. Here solo appearances include: Israel Philharmonic Orchestra; Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra; Les Violons du Roy (Canada); Quebec Symphony Orchestra; Berlin Soloist Ensemble. She engages with children and adults, in individual and group settings, encouraging the development of performance skills and sharing the joy of music-making, with the main goal of cultivating a passion for music.

LAINE LONGTON
Cello

Laine Longton has been playing the cello since the age of 5 and holds a B. Mus in Performance from the UVic, a M. Mus from the University of Illinois, and a Doctor of Musical Arts from UBC. Laine runs the string section of UBC’s Summer Music Camps. She loves teaching and believes in a personalized approach for each student.

LEON FELDMAN
Guitar, Keyboard

Leon is a multi-instrumentalist, vocalist, audio engineer and music instructor born and raised in Vancouver. Leon graduated from the VCC School of Music where he majored in Jazz and Contemporary Guitar Performance. While pursuing a career in music with local groups like ‘Glass Kites’ and ‘Panther & The Supafly’, Leon has been active in teaching private guitar, keyboard and theory lessons for many years.

JEFF TOBIN
Drums

Jeff has been playing, performing, teaching and recording on the drum set since he was 8. He furthered his drumming studies by taking lessons with a percussionist from the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra and later started playing with the band ColorWheel and performed in Vancouver.
“Playing and teaching the drum set is a passion that brews inside. I couldn’t think of doing anything else and I feel so fortunate to be making a career out of it.”
Jeff is a very engaging, energetic and well-loved teacher who also performs at JCC community events.

ANNA WRIGHT
Saxophone

Anna Wright has recently completed her Masters in Saxophone Performance at UBC. Originally from Edinburgh, Scotland, she is currently also studying Ethnomusicology at UBC. Anna has taught saxophone at the Junior Napier music school as part of Edinburgh Napier University, where she mentored students preparing for university entry, and has taught saxophone privately for over 5 years.

ANDREA MINDEN
Flute

Andrea, B. Mus., flutist, found sound instrumentalist and teacher, graduated from the UBC School of Music. She was an original member of the Robert Minden Ensemble, a renowned young audience music and theatre company which toured internationally and has been featured on Sesame Street. Andréa is a well known Vancouver musician and teacher and welcomes new students.

DAVID SKULSKI
Oboe, Recorder

Well known to the musical world in Vancouver, Mr. Skulski was appointed solo English Horn with the Vancouver Symphony at the age of 17. After leaving the VSO he played with the CBC Radio orchestra and the Orquesta Sinfónica de Xalapa (Mexico). On returning to Canada, he founded Early Music Vancouver. As a teacher, he recently gave a course on the history of musical instruments at SFU. He also plays and teaches the recorder and other historical instruments.
