Learn the basics of exercise in a fun, supportive environment. Starting with movement fundamentals, then progressing to utilizing various equipment in the fitness centre. Max 4 participants.

NEW STRENGTH TRAINING FOR YOUTH
(Ages: 14-16)
Instructor: Lorenzo Panhlua
This program is for youth who are looking to advance their strength training. They will learn proper lift techniques, program design and how to effectively warm up and cool-down for strength training. Prerequisite: previous weight training experience.

Teen Fitness Orientation – free for members

The minimum age to use the JCC Fitness Centre is 13 years old.  Youth aged 13-15 years old are required to complete the Fitness Centre Orientation Process followed by a practical session with one of our Fitness Centre Attendants.

Step 2: Read the Fitness Manual

Step 3: Achieve 80% or higher on one or more of the quizzes below

*required at the time of your in-person practical or you will not be able to have your session

Step 5: Email personaltraining@jccgv.bc.ca to book your 30 min in-person practical orientation.

The orientation is your opportunity to show our fitness staff that you are comfortable with setting up the equipment and using it safely, and to ask questions regarding any other equipment you may want to learn how to use. Please keep in mind this is not a personal training session.
