Organizers of the 21st annual JCC Sports Dinner on Feb. 13 are justifiably proud to announce Emmitt Smith as guest speaker on the night Wally Buono receives the Jack Diamond Award. You can bet that B. C. Football Hall of Famer Larry Reda will be in attendance. Reda is back for a second stint as president of Football BC after being involved in local grid circles for 60 years as a player, coach and administrator.  >>

The Best of the Wally Buono Era

... The leader in career Lions coaching wins has overseen a remarkable resurgence on and off the field of course. Detractors can reasonably suggest his teams should have been more successful, but the fact remains Buono's two Grey Cup wins is still one better than any other coach in Lions history. It is among the reasons why the 63-year-old will be honoured by the Jewish Community Centre of Vancouver as the 2014 recipient of the Jack Diamond Sports Personality of the Year award.  Read more...
