‘…an unforgettable book: intellectually exacting, unsettling in its fragility...  experimental yet crafted as hell, and yes, very funny.’ —National Post

One of Canada's most exciting literary talents, SHEILA HETI, opens the 29th annual JCC Jewish Book Festival. Since the publication of her semi-autobiographical novel, How Should a Person Be? hailed by critics as one of the best books of 2012, Heti has exploded onto the international literary scene. Recent accolades include a nomination for the world’s top prize for women writers and a place on Time magazine’s shortlist of the most influential people of 2013.

Heti also co-authored with Misha Glouberman, a book of ‘conversational philosophy’ The Chairs are Where the People Go, chosen by the New Yorker as a best book of 2011. Her writing has appeared in the New York Times, Bookforum, McSweeney’s n+1, the Guardian and other places. She works as the Interviews Editor at The Believer magazine and lives in Toronto.
