ABOUT JCC FITNESS CLASSES & EVENTS

Free Member classes
Classes are included in your JCC Membership. No registration required, just show up! Descriptions are below. First come, first serve.

Holiday Fitness Classes
During Canadian stat holidays and Jewish observances the JCC does not run the regular fitness schedule. Check the online schedule for the holiday class schedule.

Specialty Fitness
Fitness and wellness programs that require special equipment and or advanced instructor training. There are fees to participate. Please register at the JCC registration desk or online.

Space may be limited due to space or equipment.

Health Talks
Passionate wellness and fitness experts from the community share their healthy living messages. Free for JCC members but please let us know you are coming so we can save you a a seat and print a handout for you. $10 non-members, please pay at reception and present your receipt at the door.

GROUP FITNESS CLASSES

Non-Choreography Classes:

Boot Camp Push yourself to the limit with this non-choreographed, full-body functional training workout that goes back to basics and gives you results!

Cardio Core 30-minute class focusing exercises that engage the core while providing cardio benefits.

Circuit A class that uses weight machines, free weights and other fitness equipment set up in stations to keep things dynamic and exhilarating. Register in the Fitness Centre before each class. Members ONLY, max. 18 per class.

Joint Works Designed by The Arthritis Society, this class takes into consideration pain, fatigue, decreased mobility. Newcomers are offered assessment and guidance.

Shake-Up  A full-body cardio and conditioning class. You’ll get a different workout every week!

Teen Circuit (12-16 years) After completing the mandatory Teen Orientation, teens can enjoy a circuit-style workout led by a JCC Personal Trainer. Exclusively for Members.

Warrior Kickbox The ultimate workout that combines perfect functional training with great cardio kickbox. All levels welcome. (Check out Warrior Kickbox + for added muscle conditioning!)

Yoga Experience the mind-body-spirit connection with a Hatha style class. Check schedule for levels.

Choreography Style Classes:

Cardio Salsa Exhilarating fusion of Latin music & dance moves.

Gentle Fit Great for older adults and those just beginning a fitness program. Increase your energy level, coordination, and stamina in a gentle atmosphere.

Step Attack A dynamic Step class with a condensed core / ab.

Step & Sculpt Maximize your time and burn countless calories in this full body workout that includes a Step and muscle conditioning workout.

NEW TGIF You made it to the end of the week – celebrate with 40 minutes of cardio and strength followed by a glorious 20 minute stretch. You earned it!

Zumba Low– and high-intensity interval-style, calorie-burning dance fitness party.

Zumba Gold Show aging who’s boss and get groovin’ at your own pace! The dance party for the “young at heart”.
