Children will learn fun jazz moves, explore the world of creative dancing and learn some Tap basics. The class will be divided in two, with half devoted to jazz and the other half to Tap. Because of the diversity and fun, very young children will be able to focus throughout the hour. Students will perform a short dance in the Norman Rothstein Theatre, on June 7, 2008.

COMPANY (ages 11-18)

An auditioned class, the Company is a serious and committed group devoted to improving its members' level of dance to consistent stage quality and sharing their passion through performances throughout the year.
Members must take at least one other advanced Jazz class per week in order to be considered.
Class will feature intensive workshops in different styles of performance jazz; from classic Broadway to street, lyrical, character and Fosse. Guest teachers will bring in various styles. Choreographies will be performed in showcases, competitions and the Year-End Shows on June 7, 2008. Utmost professionalism is expected from the dancers in this company. Lateness and absenteeism will not be tolerated except in medical emergency.

For a mix of ages of the more advanced students with Jazz experience, an exciting class focused on theatrical aspects of dance. With focus on Broadway & character style, students will also have the opportunity to explore other dance styles and storytelling through dance. They will perform several dances in the Norman Rothstein Theatre, on June 7, 2008.
Pre-requisite: at least one other dance class that includes technical training, at the choice of the student (in addition to the mandatory Ballet Barre class).
